be short and sweet...
- We made red paper lanterns and a yellow and white paper chain to
decorate little A for Xmas. The kids went NUTS with the chain. We
couldn't get them to stop. We listened to music while working. The
kids new a bunch of the songs and sang in funny voices. The caregivers
and I were cracking up.
- The Xmas program was yesterday. I understand what it's like now to
be a proud parent and enjoy those silly plays and songs and dances.
They each got a Xmas/Bday present. Since there are so many kids and we
don't know all of their bdays, everyone's is celebrated at the
program. We wrapped all those gifts. The kids LOVED it! It was such a
sweet day.
- Today we shopped Churchill Ave. It was great. I can't wait to shop the NGO's.
It's very easy to forget that each of these children have a story.
Yesterday, I experienced something that reminded me of this. It
absolutely reminded me of why I am here. The event was very personal
and not something I am comfortable talking about in such a public
forum. It has nothing to do with Ahope or the children. Dan, Judi, and
I are all perfectly safe and having no troubles. But if you are the
praying/sending good vibes type I'd appreciate it if you could say
one. Please just pray for health, that the right decision was made,
and that those involved will be comforted. I've never experienced
anything like this. My passion for alleviating poverty and keeping
children in this country increased tenfold.
